You Should Be Dancing has made parties with a live band their signature. They have done a great job with this party format. When they have a band, you can count on great music, great people with a range of dance ability, and great energy. Plus free beer, drinks and snacks included in the entirely reasonable price of admission. Tonight was no exception with live Swing music by the J-Jazz sisters, a mostly female and all Japanese band. The swing music at these parties leans toward Lindy Hop/East Coast, although you will sometimes also see a little Shag or West Coast. The Latin music in the other room (with DJ'd music) tends to be a mix of Salsa, Cha-Cha, and Merengue with some Bachata and Rumba filling out the audio landscape.

Tonight featured the birthday dance for Charlie, owner of You Should Be Dancing. Happy Birthday, Charlie!
