Salsa

According to the manager at Yura and Company (a restaurant in NYC), the original Mexican name for Salsa, the condiment, was "Pico de gallo". Literally, this means "Rooster's Beak".

Samba

The Brazilian national dish, Feijoada, is a stew of beans and various meats. It is served with white rice, collard greens, farofa (a thickener made from yucca flour), and slices of oranges. To eat feijoada properly, take a little of each item, combine them on your plate, and then eat them together. Usually, though, the orange slices are saved for last.

Brazilian collard greens tend to be crisp, while Southern collard greens tend to be mushy.

Salsa and Brazilian salsa are very different condiments.
