On New Year's Eve, the Copacabana hosted a special Cuba Party upstairs in a space smaller than the main ballroom (where Reggaeton was the hip event of the night for the younger crowd) but large enough for a grand Salsa party with Ralph Irizarry on timbales and his exciting band. There were authentic Cuban dance performers, hats and streamers, and bubbly champagne flowing all night long. I found many dance partners, some new and some familiar. It's always a great time at the Copacabana, whether you are dancing upstairs, downstairs, or just watching the orchestras or bands.
