Cosmetics Priced at a Discount for Spa Customers

By Dr. Roberta E. Zlokower
August 28, 2003

While strolling Madison Avenue recently, I was thunderstruck! There was an elegant shop, just for Borghese cosmetics, the line of cosmetics that I had exclusively used for over 20 years! I had not seen these cosmetics for the past few years and had believed rumors of their demise! But, lo and behold, here they were, with Spa Treatments as well, and a country Italian setting worthy of Enchanted April (See Review). The store has the aroma of wisteria and sunshine. It is romance and rapture, as you enter and find Spa/Store Manager, Amy Martin, with a smile and a plan, just to pamper and preserve you with youth-inducing and moisture-intensifying treatments.

On August 28, 2003, I was treated to a Body Treatment and a Facial. I felt brand-new and was reluctant to leave. This was, indeed, a once-in-a-lifetime feeling, but an affordable experience for any woman, even on a monthly or bi-monthly schedule, especially since the fine line of Borghese cosmetics is reduced for Spa customers. You even take a shower and hair wash and get a massage!

My body treatment included lovely lotions, gentle massage, and foot care. A moisture-intense body wrap, rest, and hair wash-shower (in an actual Spa shower, with multiple jets propelling strong water pressure on your back) followed. The facial included cleansing creams, exfoliant muds, eye compresses, and moisturizers. Each Body Treatment and Facial is custom-designed for the customer, so you help to choose those special care cosmetics and spa treatments that suit your skin and temperament.

Some of the many products I sampled were: Crema Saponetta Cleansing CrËme, Esfoliante Delicato Gentle Cleanser & Exfoliant, Tono Body CrËme, and Cura-C Anhydrous Vitamin C Body Treatment. Although I have many skin and eye allergies to chemicals and soaps, I have NEVER had an allergy reaction to ANY Borghese products, and that is one of the reasons I always used Borghese for face and body makeup and care. In fact, many of the cosmetics are PABA free, for those, like me, who are allergic to PABA, a chemical, sunscreen additive.

And, for aesthetic and packaging value, Borghese Spa Treatments and cosmetics make perfect gifts and gift certificates, as there is something for every woman, even a near stranger, such as perfume, cologne, and soaps. The packaging is a classy combination of old-world and contemporary Italian, with clean, earthy colorings and textures.

Call 212.249.8810, and ask for Amy or Maria. You, too, can be pampered in style!
